Review

Every applicant who doesn’t meet assured admissions requirements and is ranked in the top 75 percent of his or her class is automatically reviewed.

If your test scores and rank will place you into our review process, we encourage you to thoroughly complete Part II of the ApplyTexas application, and submit an essay on one of the listed topics that will allow readers to gain insight about you not reflected on your transcript or test scores.

If time permits, you may retest before the application deadline for the purposes of raising your test scores to gain a more competitive advantage in the review process.

Transfers with 1-29 Hours

Additional Requirements

Majors within the McCoy College of Business can be classified as Limited Access, as student enrollment is limited each semester. The affected majors include accounting, economics, finance, management, marketing and computer information systems.

Some programs at Texas State require that students complete additional requirements, on top of what is needed to earn general admission to the University. These program entry requirements could include having a higher GPA, taking certain courses or participating in an audition process.

You have three options to complete the application fee requirement:

1. Pay the application fee online. To pay your application fee now, click here.

2. Qualify for an application fee waiver through completion of the FAFSA/TASFA, which indicates full Pell Grant eligibility. The FAFSA opens on October 1, 2016. The TASFA becomes available on October 1, 2016.

3. Qualify for an application fee waiver through completion of one of the options listed below. Your request will be reviewed by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions to determine eligibility. Read the information below to learn more about the waiver and to see if you qualify. Download the fee waiver request form.
