Applicants who have earned a high school diploma or who are in the process of completing high school credits within two (2) semesters are considered freshmen applicants. Admissions score minimums are based according to class rank and are as follows:

Procedures
1. Submit ApplyTexas application: No application fee. No personal statement. No essay required.
2. Submit official high school transcript.
3. Submit ACT (Code: 4215) and/or SAT (Code: 0359) scores.
4. Submit official college transcripts for all coursework taken while in high school (if applicable).

Apply for transfer admission if you have already started your post-secondary studies at another college or university after graduating from high school or earning a GED.
Transfer students, students with over 30 college credit hours, who have previously attended an accredited institution and are seeking admission to TAMIU must:
1. Submit ApplyTexas application: No application fee. No personal statement. No essay required.
2. Submit an official transcript from any college/university attended.
3. Demonstrate a minimum grade point average of 2.0.

Note: Additional requirements exist for the School of Nursing and for Teacher Education Programs and Music.
Transfer Freshmen students, students with less than 30 college credit hours, who have previously attended an accredited institution and are seeking admission to TAMIU, must:

1. Submit ApplyTexas application: No application fee. No personal statement. No essay required.
2. Submit official high school transcript.
3. Submit ACT (Code: 4215) and/or SAT (Code: 0359) scores
4. Submit an official transcript from any college/university attended. 5. Demonstrate a minimum grade point average of 2.0.

TAMIU has no admissions application fee.
